Celebrating Clay – Chester Springs Studio at 40! Celebrating Clay Artist’s Reception: September 23, 2 – 5pm Exhibit: September 23 – October 7, 2018 Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, 2-8pm Saturdays & Sundays, noon-4pm  Chester Springs Studio, in Historic Yellow Springs, is commemorating a milestone 40th anniversary with the exhibition Celebrating Clay from September 23 through October 7, 2018. The exhibition enriches the Studio’s current clay and wood-firing program while simultaneously honoring our commitment to the field of ceramics and clay artists. Celebrating Clay features functional and sculptural work by thirty-three recognized ceramic artists from across the Delaware Valley. A festive artists’ reception with music by the West Chester University Steel Drum Ensemble and refreshments opens the exhibition on Sunday, September 23, 2-5pm. Ceramics Demonstrations, throwing on the wheel and firing the wood-kiln, are planned for October 6, 2-4pm. Celebrating Clay’s exhibition, artists’ reception, and ceramics demonstrations are open and free to the public. 45th ANNUAL YELLOW SPRINGS ART SHOW UNDERWAY!

The 2018 45th Yellow Springs Art Show is underway! And just when we think we have exceeded our capability, we are posed to once again grow our show and bring innovation and change that is sure to please. Our Art Show Committee has already been busy with jurying new artists and art work for the show as well as choosing the work of Barbara Grant, PAINTING YELLOW SPRINGS, for our 2018 show poster.  The show opens with our traditional ticketed Gala event on Friday, April 27.   The official opening day is Saturday, April 28, and will run through Sunday, May 13.  All of this happens after many months of intense planning, coordinating and organizing. Chairperson Maureen Fendrick announced we will be exhibiting 214 artists in the 2018 show.  Of this number, 24 are new artists exhibiting for the first time and bringing new concepts, styles and genre.  Mo is very proud of the 35 volunteers who are working diligently to produce our show and bring you a one-of-a-kind viewing experience.  She says, “I want to thank our volunteers and our artists who form a dedicated team with talents, patience and time who bring together our spectacular show.” Mo encourages you to follow the show on Facebook to see artwork that will be exhibited this year. Our Gala will introduce Perfect Settings caterers who are sure to please our guests. Remember our Happy Hour on Friday, May 4 from 5 – 8 p.m. Plus, we will again hold Puppy Adoption Day on Sunday, April 29.  New this year will be “open late” days on May 3 and 4 and May 10 and 11 when the...
