We have certainly been lucky with the fall weather this year…for the most part. Here in the village we are starting to think about the holiday season, spending time with family and friends and exchanging gifts. Please remember us in your gift giving plans and if you are buying through Amazon please use Amazon smile and designate us as your charity.
Speaking of gift giving, I invite all of you to come to our Fine Arts and Crafts show this month to do your gift shopping. We have over 50 local artists and a wide variety of types of gifts from which to choose. The show runs Saturday the 18th and Sunday the 19th of November with an opening reception here on Friday night the 17th where there will be all sorts of fun and festive food and drink. So bring your friends and enjoy this start to the holiday season here at HYS. And…there will be a food truck here the entire fine arts and craft show weekend so you can take a break from your shopping and grab a bite to eat. If the weather cooperates, we will have tables and chairs outside on our porches for you to use.
Also, see our write-up on the Holiday Stroll which will be held December 8th. There are lots of exciting things for the whole family to do so please plan on joining us. Of course Santa will be here as well as Chester Valley Dance and Chester Springs Library’s Storytime. There will also be the opening reception for the 2018 Yellow Springs Art Show Poster competition, as well as West Pikeland’s Park and Recreation Committee’s many events…. so lots to do for everyone in the family.
We will be sending out our annual appeal very soon. This past year we have seen many of our operating costs increase so your gift to us is a very important part of keeping this special place up and running. You can donate online at any time if you go to www.yellowsprings.org/support. This village has a special place in our history, our present and our future and I hope you continue to support it however you can. We can’t keep this magical village going without your help.
Thanks for your support and I hope to …
See you in the village,
