YSAS Auction

The Yellow Springs Art Show Auction features beautiful works donated from over 75 juried artists from our spring show, and 100% of the proceeds go back to Historic Yellow Springs! We really appreciate your continued support. With any purchase made, you commit to the continued vitality of the beautiful Historic Village of Yellow Springs, and we can’t thank you enough! All bidding will be done online through 32Auctions. We are excited to offer an online auction, where we can open participation to the entire community.

Auction items will be available for viewing and displayed online closer to auction opening on October 19th.

Auction Timing: The Yellow Springs Art Show Auction will open for bidding @ 10 AM Monday, October 19th, and close @ 2 PM on Sunday, October 25th.

Purchase Terms: Buyers will be required to pay Pennsylvania Sales Tax of 6% at the time of payment. Your purchase may be eligible for a tax deduction, as those purchases support Historic Yellow Springs, a 501c3 non-profit organization, with an EIN #231920704. Please consult your accountant.

Payment: Payments for this online auction can be made in person when picking up artwork at HYS via cash, check, or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, or Discover). Checks need to be made out to Historic Yellow Springs, Inc.

Pick up: Auction items will be available for pick up at the Lincoln building, 1685 Art School Road Chester Springs, PA 19425 on:

Sunday, October 25, from 2 – 3 PM
Monday, October 26, from 10 AM – 5 PM
Tuesday, October 27, from 10 AM – 5 PM

If you cannot make any of these scheduled pick up times, please contact jpresley@yellowsprings.org; 610-827-7414 extension 10, and we can schedule a time. In-person pick up is our preferred method.

If you would like to have the possibility to have a piece shipped to you, we will consider that option to see if that is possible. The cost of shipping and package insurance will be an extra charge.

Returns: All sales are final. This auction is a fundraiser, and there will be no exchanges or refunds. All values are approximate, and all items are sold as is.

Come see the artwork in-person! The main gallery in the Lincoln building will be open to the public by reservation October 19th – 25th from 10 AM – 2 PM.  

Reservations are limited and can be made beginning October 1st at 10 AM.

No more than 4 guests per reservation.

Guests must wear a mask and follow health and safety guidelines, as well as HYS COVID protocols. You will also be asked to fill out the contact tracing questionnaire before entry.

Auction FAQs


Q: How do I find the auction?
A: The auction is located at www.32auctions.com/YSASAuction.

Q: How long is the auction open?
A: The auction is open from 10:00am Monday, October 19th and close @ 2:00pm on Sunday, October 25th.

Q: Do I need to attend to participate in the auction?
A: No. All bidding will be done online at www.32auctions.com/YSASAuction. By using 32Auctions we can extend the auction to the entire community.


Q: Can I view the auction items without a 32auctions account?
A: Yes, once auction items are added, you can see them by going to www.32auctions.com/YSASAuction. An account will only be required once you are ready to enter bids, and it is free to create your account.

Q: Do I need to create an account to bid on items?
A: Yes, an account is needed to place a bid on an item. The account setup process is quick and very little information is required – only name, email and password. No payment information is necessary during account set up.

Q: How do I create an account?
A: You will need to create an account at https://www.32auctions.com/users/new in order to bid on the auction. Creating an account will allow us to identify and communicate with you during and after the auction.

Once you create an account, you should receive a confirmation email from 32auctions (noreply@32auctions.com). If you do not receive an email, please check your spam or junk email folder. We recommend adding noreply@32auctions.com to your address book or “safe senders” list to ensure you receive future notification emails. If you still cannot locate the confirmation email, you may want to create an account using a different email address.


Q: How does bidding work?
A: The bidding process is easy and works similarly to other online auction sites. You will be able to read about/see the item as well as seeing what the current bid for it is. During the exhibition, all bidding will take place online through 32Auctions.

Q: What is an “exact” bid?
A: This means that you enter exactly the amount you wish to bid. The current bid will immediately move to this amount.

Q: What is a “proxy” bid?
A: This means that 32Auctions can bid for you, up to whatever maximum amount you’d like to set. As others bid on the same item, 32Auctions will automatically bid on your behalf, up to your maximum amount. Your maximum bid will remain confidential unless you are outbid.

Q: How does “Buy It Now” work?
A: Some auction items will have a “buy it now” feature that allows you to immediately win the item if you agree to purchase it at the “buy it now” price.

Q: Will I be notified when someone outbids me?
A: All participants will receive a notification when they are outbid. You will receive the outbid email only if your bid is the leading bid and then someone outbids you. You should also receive an email when you submit a bid which confirms your bid and lets you know if you are the leading bidder. If you are not receiving notifications, please check your spam or junk email folder.

Q: How do I know if I am the winning bidder?
A: All winning bidders will receive a notification email from 32Auctions after the auction closes. If you are not receiving notifications, please check your spam or junk email folder. You can also log in to your account and click or tap “My Items Won.”

Q: What happens when there are two bids that are the same on an item?
A: Any time the system receives two bids that are the same, the first bid entered into the system wins.



Q: How do I pay for my items?
A: Payments can be made in person while picking artwork up the week following the auction at HYS. We accept the following payment methods Visa, Mastercard, Discover, cash or check. Winning bidders will receive a notification with payment instructions. Items must be paid for in full at pick up.

Q: How do I receive my items?
A: All items will be present at Historic Yellow Springs, and may be picked up during scheduled times.

Q: What payment options are available?
A: When the auction closes, 32Auctions will automatically email winning bidders with notifications and payment instructions. Winning bidders can pay in person while picking up with a credit card, cash or check.

Q: Is shipping available?
A: It is preferred that you pick up your purchase at HYS, but shipping can be arranged at the additional cost of the buyer. Some items require may require shipping insurance. Payment can be made over the phone, or by mailing a check.

Q: Are refunds available?
A: Sorry, all sales are final. This auction is a fundraiser and there will be no exchanges or refunds. All values are approximate and all items are sold as is.
