Clay Creations Ceramic Art Show and Sale

Clay Creations Ceramic Art Show and Sale October 2 – 11, 2020 Clay Creations is a juried show featuring the region’s best functional and sculptural works in clay. Call for Artists Open to all artists residing in the United States. Artists may submit images for up to 4 representative works for consideration, and up to 2 images of each work from different angles. Alternatively, an in-person jury date is set for June 1 • 10 AM – 5 PM All artwork must be available for sale during the exhibition. The artwork exhibited need not be the same work submitted for the jury, but the jury submissions MUST be representative of the artist. The artwork should be prepared for display and not so fragile as to be dangerous to the work when shipped, displayed, or handled with reasonable care. 2019 HYS Members Art Show

ARTIST REGISTRATION & GUIDELINES > VOLUNTEERS NEEDED > Light fare and beverages will be served at the Opening Reception. There is no charge to attend. We are proud to present the 2019 Historic Yellow Springs Members’ Art Show with an opening reception on Friday, December 13th from  6:00 to 8:00 pm, and running through December 22nd. The annual HYS member’s exhibit features a collection of art created by our members—including professional and student artists. Each participant will be exhibiting one to three pieces of art including oil and watercolor paintings, pastel, encaustic, ceramics, sculpture, fiber art, photography and mixed media. We are showing “best works” where exhibited work is available for viewing and some for purchase. A special part of the exhibit is dedicated to artwork created by teens and children who are actively enrolled as students. Chester Springs Studio maintains a legacy of art dating to the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts Country School in our village from 1917 through 1952. We invite you to visit our 2019 HYS Members Exhibition to see the quality of artistry in our community. Summer of Hamilton Exhibition August 7 – September 7, 2019 10 AM to 4 PM, Monday – Friday Closed Weekends FREE to Public As part of our Hamilton summer at Yellow Springs, we are hosting an exhibition based on the life of Alexander Hamilton. It is available to the public free of charge. It opens August 7th and will run through September 7th, in the Lincoln Building at Historic Yellow Springs. Exhibition hours are 10 AM to 4 PM daily. Closed weekends. We encourage you to view this informative exhibition of the life of Hamilton. ALEXANDER HAMILTON Alexander Hamilton was born in 1757. From Lt. Col. he was promoted to Major General of the Continental Army and served as senior aide de camp to Commander General George Washington and assisted Washington in running the Revolutionary War. He commanded three battalions at Yorktown, which along with the French support, succeeded in the surrender of the British and the winning of the Revolutionary War. He was an American statesman and one of the Founding Fathers of our country. He is founder of our nation’s financial system and created the National Bank. A promoter of the U. S. Constitution, he was author of 51 of the 85 Federalist Papers and founded the Federalist Party. He founded the U. S. Coast Guard, the New York Post newspaper and was the first Secretary of the Treasury. Hamilton died as a result of a duel with Aaron Burr in 1804....
