2026 Yellow Springs Art Show 2D Artwork Requirements

Primary Artwork – Up to 4 Pieces
- Generally, no larger than 48”; larger works may reduce total pieces hung at start of show to 2–3 depending on size and remaining work will be added as space opens.
- Artists select one piece to be featured in the show catalog and hung in the first-floor main galleries. Artwork must be one piece, no sets or panels.
- Catalog piece information and image must be submitted by Monday, January 5, 2026.
- Poster Competition entries count as a fifth piece and may serve as your catalog piece. If you choose to have your poster piece as your catalog piece, it will count as one of your 4 primary pieces.
Do NOT sell your catalog piece before the show. You will not be able to submit a different piece. Any artist that sells their catalog piece after the January 5 deadline is required to give 40% of listed inventory price to HYS. Artists will also not have a featured piece in the first-floor main gallery space.

Miniature Artwork – Up to 8 Pieces (Optional)
- Maximum size: 11” x 14” outer frame (or 12.5” square).
- Four miniatures will be hung initially; the remaining four will be used for restocking.
- May be displayed in main galleries if needed.
Portfolio Artwork – Up to 20 Pieces
Portfolio pieces may include unframed original artwork and/or signed limited edition prints.
- Unframed originals or signed, limited-edition prints, max size 20” x 24”.
- Original artwork on canvas is limited to a thickness of .5”.
- Must be cleanly presented, backed with foamboard, and shrink-wrapped.
- Photocopies not accepted.
- Canvas racks provided by HYS and shared between artists.
- Remove all previous pricing/labels to avoid confusion.
Presentation & Hanging Standards
- All primary and miniature works must be professionally framed and clean the back must be properly finished with paper.
- Gallery-wrapped canvases must have painted edges.
- No sawtooth hangers or plastic-coated wire—use uncoated wire only.
- No vintage, antique or distressed frames.
- Paintings must be completely dry at time of check in.
All works must have the artist’s name and the title of the piece only on the back. Do not include your contact information.
