Please note: Due to the weather forecast, the 2026 HYS Fall Festival has been postponed from Sunday, October 11 to our rain date, Sunday, November 1.
Celebrate the season at Historic Yellow Springs during the Annual Fall Festival on Sunday, November 1, from 12–4 PM! Bring family and friends to enjoy an afternoon filled with autumn fun, local history, art, and community. Explore the historic village, enjoy live music and take part in family-friendly activities throughout the grounds. Highlights include the Yellow Springs Great Pumpkin Classic, pumpkin painting, a scavenger hunt, history tour, artist demonstrations, the Haunted History House, and more! With something for all ages, the Fall Festival is the perfect way to experience the beauty and history of Historic Yellow Springs while celebrating the fall season together.This event is free and open to the public!

Race Info and Timeline:
The 3rd Annual Yellow Springs Great Pumpkin Classic will be held on Sunday, November 1, during the Historic Yellow Springs Fall Festival event.
Timeline
12 pm – Check in begins. Pumpkins need to be dropped off at the racetrack.
1-2:45 pm – Judging for scariest, funniest and most creative.
2:45 pm – Single elimination races begin.
Trophy ceremony immediately following the last race.
Trophies will be given to the fastest, funniest, scariest and most creative pumpkin racers.
Rules
- The race is open to single participants, families and teams. All ages.
- One pumpkin racer per registration, you must supply your own pumpkin.
- Pumpkins must weigh 10 lbs. or less, with a maximum width of 10 inches.
- Feel free to decorate your pumpkin in any way you like, as long as it’s suitable for a community event.
Pumpkin Race Details
- Participants will bring their fully decorated pumpkins to the racetrack to check in. Please try to have your pumpkin checked in by 1:30 pm to be included in the judging for funniest, scariest and most creative!
- The HYS volunteer pit crew will mount the pumpkins onto the wheels!
- Race teams will gather at the racetrack at 2:30 pm to prepare for race.
- Back-to-back single elimination races will kick off at 2:45 PM.

- Do not hollow out your pumpkin.
