TOWN TOUR AND VILLAGE WALKS is returning to the village of Historic Yellow Springs. Please mark your calendars for Thursday, August 15, and plan to attend. The program is in its 30th year and is sponsored by the Chester County Board of Commissioners, Chester County Planning Commission, Chester County Conference and Visitors Bureau, Chester County Preservation Network and the Chester County History Center. It supports the County Landscapes 3 program.
The theme for 2024 is CELEBRATING SUCCESS IN HISTORIC PRESERVATION IN CHESTER COUNTY and our program is YELLOW SPRINGS: CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF PRESERVATION. Yellow Springs was founded in 1974 to preserve the quiet rural atmosphere with its 140 acres of unspoiled natural environment, its center for history and the arts, and the preservation of its historic structures.
Join us as we celebrate our 50 years and enlighten you on the eras of history evident here, and how we continue to promote the preservation goals of our founders. We also proudly celebrate our continuous participation in Town Tours and Village Walks since its beginning in1994. And we are also proud to partner with West Pikeland Township in this tour.
Doors open at 5 pm with tours beginning at 5:30 pm. Final tours leave at 7 pm. Please know that handicapped access is limited. This is a RAIN or SHINE event and in the case of inclement weather, activities will be moved indoors. Follow signs for parking.
This program is a series of free summer strolls, June 6 through August 15, through historic neighborhoods, hamlets, villages, and farms to learn about their roles in Chester County, both in the past and today. Watch our website and social media for details and you will be able to pick up a brochure at Yellow Springs and throughout the County.
