The NEW wood kiln and a big thanks to TED NEAL and EVERYONE who helped build it!

Construction of our new dual-chamber noborigama kiln is now complete! Ted Neal brought his masterful skills to this hands-on workshop guiding our team of eleven participants through the complex building process, requiring planning and material acquisition, technical skills, welding and masonry expertise. The first inaugural firing took place the weekend of August 18 with much celebrating and anticipation. All were pleased when the kiln was unloaded with spectacular pottery. Plans are now moving forward as new firings are scheduled into 2024. Thanks to Matt Wren, Ceramic Studio Supervisor, who oversaw this monumental project.
