Art Show Mission
Historic Yellow Springs, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, sharing, and celebrating the vibrant living village of Yellow Springs—one of Chester County’s most fascinating historic sites. With a legacy spanning over 300 years, Yellow Springs has served as a spa village, Revolutionary War hospital, the Chester Springs Soldiers’ Orphan School, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts Country School, and home to Good News Productions.
Since its founding in 1973, the Yellow Springs Art Show has grown into the longest-running fine art show in Chester County and remains the most significant annual fundraiser for Historic Yellow Springs. The Art Show Committee—comprised entirely of dedicated volunteers—works alongside HYS staff to present a professional, high-quality exhibition that both supports our mission and promotes participating artists. Our goal is to ensure the success of the show is mutual—for HYS and for you.
Exhibiting in the Show
Once juried into the Yellow Springs Art Show, artists are invited to participate in future years without re-jurying, provided their work consistently aligns with the show’s standards and results in successful sales. If an artist skips a year, makes significant stylistic changes, or changes mediums, they may be required to reapply through the jury process.
With over 200 artists in the show, strict adherence to deadlines is essential. Late submissions may risk your participation. All communications will be sent via email—please add jpresley@yellowsprings.org to your contacts to avoid missing important updates.
Commission & Insurance: HYS retains a 40% commission on all artwork sold during or as a result of the show. The 2026 poster artists will receive a reduced 30% commission on all artwork sold during or as a result of the show.
Artists are responsible for insuring their work. While all care will be taken in handling, HYS is not liable for any damage or loss. Any work not picked up within 30 days of May 10 will become property of HYS.
Artwork Submission Guidelines
New Work Only
- All artwork must be new to the Yellow Springs Art Show and created within the last 2 years.
- All artwork must not have been exhibited within a 50-mile radius in the past four months.
Pricing
- Minimum price: $40 (including prints); no maximum.
- Prices must be in increments of $5 (e.g., $200, $205).
- Price changes will NOT be made after check in.
Catalog Image & Bio Submission
Catalog artwork must be one piece, no sets or panels.
Due: Monday, January 5, 2026
- Submit one primary piece image (no frame) in CMYK, 300 dpi, JPEG or TIFF format, max 10MB.
- File name: LastName_FirstInitial.jpeg (e.g., Matisse_H.jpeg)
- Artist bio: 64 words or fewer, written in first person (“I have…” not “The artist…”).
Links to submit your catalog information and image will go live on this page October 24.

Artists may purchase tickets at a discounted rate of $75 each. - Art Show Open: April 25 – May 10, 2026
Open daily 10 AM – 4 PM - Happy Hour (Ticketed): Friday, May 1, 2026 • 5–8 PM Artists may purchase tickets for $10 each.

Sold Artwork
Sold pieces (excluding catalog pieces) will leave with the buyer at time of purchase. Catalog pieces will remain on display through the second weekend and then will be available for pick up for buyers.
Commission Artwork
If a piece is commissioned through the Yellow Springs Art Show, HYS will receive a 40% commission on the sale.
Sales Payments
Checks will be mailed 4 – 6 weeks after the show closes on May 10.
Please deposit promptly. Replacement checks will incur a $30 fee.
