Volunteer at Historic Yellow Springs
Historic Yellow Springs volunteers provide an invaluable service to HYS, playing a vital role in the successful operation of our historic community. We would not be here without our volunteers! Whether assisting with special events, guiding tours, hanging art exhibits, greeting visitors, or caring for the gardens, our team of over 200 volunteers helps to preserve our history while enriching the community through the arts and education.

Veteran’s Art Day
Help us honor local veterans and military members through hands-on artmaking at Veterans Art Day. Veterans and military members of all branches, ranks, and ages are invited to participate in free, process-oriented workshops led by talented HYS instructors. Activities include ceramics, printmaking, raku, and Zentangle, offering participants a chance to connect, create, and enjoy the relaxing benefits of hands-on making.
Volunteers may assist instructors with materials, setup, activities, and participant support throughout the day. No art experience is necessary. This is a meaningful opportunity to support veterans while helping create a welcoming and creative experience at HYS.
Holiday Stroll
Help us kick off the holiday season at the Yellow Springs Holiday Stroll! This festive, family-friendly event brings the historic village to life with decorations, refreshments, activities, Santa, and holiday cheer.
Volunteers help make the day run smoothly by assisting with activities, welcoming visitors, helping with setup and cleanup, and supporting various stations throughout the village. This is a fun opportunity for volunteers who enjoy working with families and being part of a lively community event.
