2ND ANNUAL VILLAGE OPEN HOUSE
Join us on Sunday, October 15, for our Village Open House running from 12 to 4 pm. It is a rain or shine event with an abundance of activities planned to captivate attendees of all ages. Admission is FREE.
The day will be filled with live music from the Street Beans Band, behind the scenes tours of the village and buildings, pumpkin painting, a festive Halloween costume parade, food trucks, Chester Springs Studio artist demonstrations, a look at our newly installed wood-burning kiln, and of course, Trick or Treating! We will also be hosting a haunted house in the Lincoln building intended to thrill and delight our more adventurous visitors.
New this year, we have added a community pumpkin carving contest and Jack-O-Lantern exhibition! We invite you to unleash your inner artist and carve out some fall fun! Whether you’re an experienced pumpkin carver or just looking to try your hand at it for the first time, everyone is welcome to join in the Halloween spirit. This exhibition promises to be a gourd-geous, filled with creativity, and, of course, plenty of pumpkin magic.
There are five categories: Ages 5-7, 8-12, 13-17, 18+ and Family/Team. We have also challenged other area local nonprofits to compete, with a special Glow For Good nonprofit category. Visit our website for more information and to register.
The Antique Ice Tool Museum will be presenting a lecture: The Chilling History of Chester County and the Modern Ice Age 1830-1940.
Other local nonprofits have been invited to participate and we look to expand the community Impact and foster a collaborative environment of working together.
We are also seeking volunteers for this exciting day. There are many different ways you can help so please contact Kathy McGarry, our Volunteer Coordinator, at kmcgarry@yellowsprings.org. You will have a lot of fun celebrating autumn at Yellow Springs.
We look forward to seeing you in the village for our Village Open House and a welcome to the fall season. Check our website for details.
