Ellen Garvin Brown left behind a legacy of compassion, creativity, and a lifelong dedication to learning. She was an esteemed elementary school teacher for over 37 years guiding generations of students with wisdom, warmth, and an unwavering commitment to their growth. Ellen’s passions extended well beyond the classroom. She was a gifted textile artist, found joy in painting with oil and water color, and was an award winning floral designer. Combining Ellen’s passion for art, her love of children, and her dedication to Yellow Springs, an Art Scholarship has been established in her honor to provide an opportunity for young creatives to continue their artistic endeavors in the Historical Yellow Springs Community Art Programs.
