Art Show 2023 Note of Thanks

On behalf of the Board of Directors, the Staff and everyone associated with the 2023 Yellow Springs Art Show, I would like to thank you for being a part of our 50th Anniversary Show.

The ability of Historic Yellow Springs to fulfill our Mission of bringing our community together while promoting and educating in the arts, in history, and in the environment relies heavily on the success of the art show, which is our largest annual fund raiser.

Every year we are told “this is the best show you have ever had” and every year it really seems to be true! As you see in the accompanying chart we had record numbers of visitors to the art show this year, excellent sales, and we are overwhelmed with excitement when we hear sentiments from new buyers like:

“Great show! Overwhelming! Saw so many things in such variety. My head is full of color”

“A pleasure to walk through the galleries of wonderful art. We had so much fun!”

Even though our opening day featured wind whipped rainstorms and loss of power in the village, our excited visitors were not to be deterred and the galleries were crowded with eager art enthusiasts. By the end of the two week show Mother Nature had smiled on us and provided beautiful weather, while more than 2000 friends and families came out to celebrate fifty years of fine art, history, music, food and the beauty of Historic Yellow Springs!

I hope that by now you have found the perfect place in your home for your new piece of art, and are enjoying it every day. Or maybe you are awaiting the opportunity to present the perfect gift of art to a loved one. What smiles that will bring!

If you are seeking your next adventure while you patiently wait for the 51st edition of the Yellow Springs art show, be sure to check out our Fire Sale June 3 through 11th for amazing works while supporting rebuild of our on-site wood fired kiln, and June 4 visit us for the 25th Annual Jazz at the Springs. Both are free and open to the public. To learn more, visit our website at YellowSprings.org
