Yellow Springs Road

Site 9

The view up the road, taking in the crossroads, the Lincoln Building, the east wing of the Inn, and the Rosato House (historically the Main House), is one of the most memorable images of the village and has often been painted and photo-graphed. Elizabeth Washington, renowned miniaturist and landscape painter, studied at the PAFA with Hugh Henry Breckenridge and Fred Wagner and was both a student and a lecturer at the Country School. She exhibited widely across the country and at the PAFA throughout her life.

To reach the next site, cross the driveway; and walk in the direction of the Iron Spring Gazebo, pausing in the Grove to enjoy the shade of the old trees.
